David Paul vonderHeide, 76, of Fort Smith passed away on Sunday June 26, 2016 in a local hospital. He was born June 16, 1940 in Fort Smith to John and Gertrude (Sprick) vonderHeide. He graduated from St. Anne’s Academy in Fort Smith, attended college and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John vonderHeide. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; one daughter, Lisa Parish and her husband Jimmie of Fort Smith; one son, Chris vonderHeide of Fort Smith; one granddaughter, Kaitlin Parish and one grandson, Gavin vonderHeide. There will be a private burial in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The Family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday June 28, 2016 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, AR. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
