Betty Powell

Betty Stewart Powell, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on July 3, 2016 in a local nursing home. She was born on September 21, 1930 in Booneville, Arkansas. She was a retired line worker from Whirlpool and a former LPN. She was a member and Sunday school teacher of 1st Freewill Baptist Church of Armour Avenue. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville, Arkansas. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Singh of Royse City, TX and Sharon Selig and her husband David of Fort Smith, AR; three sons, David South and his wife Julie of Central City, AR, Curtis Lee and his wife Cindy of Van Buren, AR and Kenneth Lee of Fort Smith, AR; one brother, John D. Stewart and his wife Neta of Barling, AR; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
