Reba Marsh

Reba E. Marsh, 82, of Atkins, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville with her children by her side. She was born November 27, 1933, in Heber Springs, daughter of the late Samuel Fredrick and Rosa Leona Smith. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1986 after 31 years of service as a Group Manager of Operator Services. She was a devoted member of Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church in Russellville. She was generous to her church and to all in need. Her smile would light a room, her laugh was contagious, and her faith was a testament to all. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Porter Smith. She is survived by her son, Philip H. Tate; 2 daughters, Pamela and husband Terry Yount, and Jamye and husband David Byrd; 4 grandchildren, Alicia Malone, Andrea and husband Matt Devine, Dustin Mooney and wife Ginger, and Joseph Mooney and wife Jordan; 5 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Riley, Dylan, Dean, and Caroline; 3 sisters, Irene Riddle, Audrey Tilley, and Leona Tilley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Monday, August 1, 2016, at Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Stumbaugh officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial is in Goodsprings Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, 2405 East Parkway, Suite 3 Russellville, Arkansas 72802.
