Roy Morris Childs

Mr. Roy Morris Childs of Woodland Grove Community passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. He was 69. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 15, 2016 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Pastor Wilburn Kirkland and Pastor Eric Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Childs Family Cemetery, County Road 263, New Brockton, AL with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. The family will also receive friends Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. He was born August 14, 1946 in Coffee County, AL to the late C.S. Childs and Helen McWaters Bolling. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his step father, Glenn Bolling, brothers, Burnie Alan Childs, Derek Mac Childs and Jonathan Dale Bolling, sister, Debra Ann Wilson and a sister-in-law, Virgie Irene Childs. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marcy Childs, Woodland Grove Community; daughter, Amanda Rodgers (Josh), New Brockton; sons: Anthony Childs, Morris Childs (Ashley), and Matthew Childs (Jessi) all of Shiloh Community; brother, Ron Childs, New Brockton; sisters, Jan Restevio (Steve), Enterprise; Gloria Childs, Coburn, VA; Karen Callahan (Larry), Enterprise; sisters-in-law, Patricia Childs, Jack, Amy Bolling, Coburn, VA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, James and Brenda Baker. Pallbearers are Derek Childs, J.D. McWaters, Sebastian Gunnell, Morris Childs II, Marty Baker, Matt Childs, Abe Childs and Perry Arrington.
