Dillard William Edwards, age 76, of Erwin went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Guy and Medie Jane Stockton Edwards. Mr. Edwards was employed by Mor-Flo Industries for twenty-nine years prior to his retirement. He attended West Park Street Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia and Lisa Edwards; a grandson, Terry Cooper; one brother, Fred Edwards; three sisters, Gertha Hagan, Edna King and Wilma Lyons. Mr. Edwards leaves behind to cherish his memory,one daughter, Nioka Barnett and husband, Richie of Alabama; one brother,Guy Edwards and wife, Linda of Erwin; four grandchildren, Kourtney Anderson, Richie Barnett, Jr., Chris Barnett and April Price; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, until the hour of service at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home. Reverend Brad Willis will officiate at the 7:00 P. M. funeral service. Music will be provided by Allen and Jenny Morefield. Pallbearers will be Dylan Hoyle, Austin Edwards, Cody Bradley, Jerry Erwin, Jimmy Golden, Richie Barnett, Jr. and Chris Barnett. The committal service will be held at 10:00 A. M. Wednesday in the Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 A. M. to go in procession to the cemetery.
