Yvonne Hemmingson

Hemmingson: Yvonne Nov. 5, 1959 – Aug. 30, 2016 Yvonne was born at Birch Hills, SK on November 5, 1959 to Edward and Gunda Arp. She spent her childhood and took her schooling in Weldon and area. After her schooling she worked in Prince Albert for Dr. Maholtra for quite a few years. On May 6, 1988 she married Neil Hemmingson and they farmed in the Young district and at the same time Yvonne worked at various jobs in Young and Watrous. Shortly after retiring from farming Neil and Yvonne moved to Watrous in 2006. Yvonne enjoyed knitting, embroidery, crafts and gardening. She loved to host parties with family and friends and her baking and cooking skills were so enjoyed by all. Yvonne’s wit and sense of humour was part of her right up to the last days. For the last 3 ½ years “our miracle lady” fought a courageous battle with cancer. Still, she enjoyed get togethers with relatives and friends when she was able. Predeceased by her parents and her sister Sylvia Petterson; she is survived by her husband Neil; five sisters, Theresa Weir, Alice (Larry) Nelson, Dianne (George) Hovdebo, Francis (Doug) Nelson, Doreen (Ivan) Kowaniuk; two brothers, John (Agnes) Kambeitz, Edward (Sherry) Arp; brother-in-law Wesley Petterson; sisters in-law Carol (Bill) Cline, Carmen (Marvin) Wieler, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 with Pastor Doug Gregory officiating. Interment in Covenant Cemetery.
