ELGIE, Richard (Dick) Allan James May 13, 1940, Leamington - October 8 2016, Woodstock Dick was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he met. Predeceased by wife Dona (Houston) and sister Pauline Bogaert. Survived by wife Diane Gorsline, children Leanne (Mike) Whitehouse, Jennifer (Chris) Becker, Beth (Eric) Boulard, Jim (Amy) Elgie, Jodi (David) Cox, Stacy Ricketts and Haley (Graham) Pynn and 15 grandchildren (with another on the way) as well as sister Carolyn (Doug) McGillivray, brother-in-laws Dave Houston and Al (Jolene) Houston and several nieces and nephews. Dick was a lifelong salesman who found a friend in everyone he met. He loved taking his grandkids on his boat, and was blessed to love two women who enjoyed fishing as much as he did. Dick passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children and will be warmly missed by everyone blessed to know him. His sense of humour and kindness were with him to the end. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., (519-539-0004) on Thursday October 13th, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A service at Knox Presbyterian Church in Embro, Ontario will be held on Friday October 14th, 2016 at 11am. Donations to the Knox Presbyterian Church Embro Building Improvements Fund would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
