ASPDEN, Clara Viola (nee Eltom) - Passed away peacefully at Secord Trails in Ingersoll at the age of 86 years surrounded by her loved ones on Monday September 12, 2016. Beloved wife of 67 years to Jim Aspden, devoted and proud mother of Lynda (Doug) Anderson, Pam (late Don) Pooley, Randy(Ada) Aspden and Diane Van Meer (Scotty Robertson). Cherished grandmother of Christina Packer, Jamie Packer, Sarah (Ryan) Harmer, Chris Pooley, Andy (Tina) Van Meer and Tracy (T.J.) McNamara. Special Nana to Hayden, Claire, Gage, Finn, Beau, Bentley and a baby girl on the way. Step grandmother of Ian (Hillary) Anderson, Karis Anderson and step great grandmother of Joel and Owen. Dear sister-in-law to Madeline Ross, Doreen Aspden and will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings; Muriel Battley-Welch, Marie Wouters and Ted Eltom. Clara was instrumental in the success of Dual Temp Products, Aspden Renovating and Di-Namic Travel. She volunteered tirelessly for the Marathon Bridge Club. Was an active member at Craigowan Golf and Country Club, I.O.D.E. Probus Club and the Woodstock Curling Club. Clara was always a kind, fun loving very artistic and a very devoted lady and she will be dearly missed. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday September 15, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm, where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Lloyd Bennett officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in the Baptist Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society Oxford County or the V.O.N.
