Hildegard Lindschinger Obituary

In full assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ, Hildegard entered her eternal rest on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the age of 64, surrounded by her family. She was the cherished wife of 45 years to Werner; amazing mother to Toni Lindschinger and Heidi Gallas and her husband Mark; beloved Omi to Josiah, Jonah and Jacob Gallas; dear sister to Waldtraut Droefke and her husband Rudi and to Waldemar Scholtes and his wife Nellie. She will also be missed by in-laws, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Hildegard was predeceased by her parents Walter and Rosina Scholtes and her brother Dietmar Scholtes. Hildegard’s interest in art, music, dancing, poetry, and writing brought her in touch with many dear friends. As Werner’s travel companion, whether hiking or in his airplane, she enjoyed God’s beautiful creation in many parts of the world, taking time to write, paint or photograph the experience. She appreciated the relationships made during her 31 years working in the Wilfrid Laurier University library. Hildegard was so thankful for the nurses, doctors, and other care providers who so lovingly cared for her, returning smile for smile. An enthusiastic member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Hildegard deeply cherished the ministry of Pastor Kuhl and the love of the congregation. Hildegard clung to her baptismal faith in Jesus, using every opportunity to share His love with others. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Hildegard with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John St. W., Waterloo from 10-10:45 a.m., with the Christian Funeral Service following at 11 a.m. Following a reception at the church, interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2723 Victoria St. N. Kitchener (Breslau) at 2 p.m. Condolences for the family and donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
