De Manche, Maria It is with deep sadness that the family of Maria announces her passing on Monday, August 15, 2016. Through her brief illness Maria lived in hope, peace and trust in God’s mercy and love. She is survived by her sister Therese and is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Eileen. She leaves behind her aunt Peggy, Patty and her other cousins. She was a woman strong in her faith. She imparted this through her teaching at St. Joseph’s College School and Loretto Abbey. She directed the choir at Our Lady of Lourdes parish for 47 years. She founded the Kolbe Eucharistic Apostolate (1996) and led the monthly mini-retreats at St. Brigid’s parish. She taught the “Know Your Faith” series at Holy Cross and Blessed Trinity parishes. She touched the lives of all those who knew her with her strong faith, witness and love. The family will receive friends at the HERITAGE FUNERAL CENTRE, 50 Overlea Blvd., 416-423-1000 on Thursday, August 18 from 6-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, 300 Wolverleigh Blvd., Toronto at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19.
