In Loving Memory of Roland “Rolly” Paradis who passed away at 67 years of age Saturday morning, August 20th, 2016 surrounded by his family at Health Sciences North, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Carole (nee Généreux) Paradis. Loving father of Sylvie (Remi Riess), Serge and Pierre (Maeghan). His grandchildren Emilie and Cameron will miss him dearly. Predeceased by his parents Jean-Louis “John” and Cécile (née Fredette) Paradis. Dear brother of Lilliane (Raymond Dupras), Roger (Joanne Lalonde predeceased), Jeannette (Gerry Grandbois) and predeceased by Maurice and Yvonne (Mike Mayhew). Dear brother in law of René predeceased (Madeleine), Jean-Guy predeceased (Cécile), Gerald (Nancy predeceased), Robert predeceased (Laurette (Marcel)), Gaëtanne (André), Gaëtan (Rachel), Roger (Noëlla), Raymond predeceased and Denis (Diane). Dear son in law of Conrad predeceased and Blanche Généreux. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Rolly was born and raised in Blezard Valley. He married Carole in 1973 in Val Thérèse. Rolly enjoyed spending time with his friends at Tim Horton’s, quading with his pals, as well as ordering his favorite foods, pizza and hamburgers, especially at First Round. He had a passion for his “perfect” backyard. Rolly was proud of the community clean up he and Carole adopted on his street. He was also an avid Boston Bruins Fan. He worked many years at the land registry office and upon his retirement he enjoyed working at Lougheed’s and Jackson Barnard Funeral Homes since 1999. Rolly was well loved by all his co-workers who will miss him. His Roman Catholic faith was important to him and he was a devoted member of Ste-Marguerite-d’Youville church. His family was his priority and he was proud of his children and grandchildren. Rolly leaves a rich legacy of faith, love and devotion. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer (FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 2-4PM AND 7-9PM WEDNESDAY) Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ste-Marguerite-d’Youville Church 4290 Hwy. 69 N. Val Thérèse Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at 11:00 am Interment at the Valley East Cemetery Donations in memory of Rolly to the Northern Cancer Foundation, ALS Society or the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
