RALEIGH, Margaret Allan (Hetherington), died in the company of her children, Seán and Dianne, on March 25, 2016, at Seaforth Manor, Seaforth Ontario. She was 81. Loving mother to Seán (Jenn), Dianne (Rob) and step-mother to Michael (Rita), and loving grandmother to Jason, Patrick, Jessica, Thomas, Colin, Sinéad and Ailsa. Beloved Auntie to nieces and nephews Scot, Morag, Glen and Jeffrey, big sister to Jim of Winnipeg. Predeceased by her parents Thomas (1944) and Margaret (1962), husband Patrick (2008), sister Janet (1979), brother Robert (1986) and stepson John (1972). Born September 10, 1934 in Paisley, Scotland, she emigrated to Canada with her mother and family in 1957, settling in Toronto. She married Patrick in 1964 and, with his two sons and the arrival in time of Seán and Dianne, eventually moved to Burlington, Ontario, where she raised her family. She was a long-time employee of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, where she worked as a switchboard operator, admissions clerk and ward clerk, and Diamond Cana-power, where she was the senior executive assistant, before retiring to Stratford and then Sebringville, Ontario, in 1999. Margaret loved to read, especially mysteries, enjoyed knitting, and of course spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Cremation has taken place, and a private service will follow.
