FLETCHER, Joan Louise (nee Johnston) “I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.” Surrounded by family, Joan Louise Fletcher passed away peacefully at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on the morning of April 18th, 2016, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of Dr. Robert Fletcher, sister to Robert Johnston (Betty). Mother of Todd Fletcher and Jill Fletcher-Douglas (Terry); adored grandmother of Jessica (Ella) and Katie Fletcher, Cole, Rebecca, Clinton, Luke and Braden Douglas; great-grandmother to Wyatt Rey-Douglas Navarro. Joan was a woman of grace, thoughtfulness and great vitality, she dedicated her life to the service of others. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by many. Joan’s family would like to thank the incredible nurses and staff at the RVH for their warmth and compassionate care. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service; Joan will be interred at Thomsonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Program at Renfrew Victoria Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
