Norman Lecuyer Obituary

LECUYER, Norman James - Peacefully at Marianhill on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 in his 86th year. Norman James Lecuyer of Pembroke, loving husband of Margaret Audrey Lecuyer (nee Drennan). Dear father of David (Donna) and Beverley Anne (Russell) Wilkes. Grandfather of Emily, Benjamin and Jennifer (Scott). Great grandfather of Lincoln. Brother of Richard of Thunder Bay, the late Denyse Murphy and the late Bernard. Respecting Norman’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Cemetery Service will be held at St. Columba’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Neville Funeral Home 491 Isabella St., Pembroke, ON, K8A 5T8 (613) 732-7481 Online Condolences may be left at www.nevillefuneralhome.ca Although dad (aka Stormin’ Norman to those who knew him) was born in Northwestern Ontario, he moved and settled in Southwestern, Ontario in his early 20’s. It was there that he met his future wife and raised his family. Life as a proud railroader, with the Canadian National Railways, led him to call several towns home including London, Stratford and Goderich. After spending several years as a retiree in Owen Sound, he and mom both decided to move to Pembroke to be closer to their children and grandchildren. His 30 years of retirement were enjoyed by taking winter trips south, curling, working with his hands on various building projects and spending every summer at the cottages on McKenzie Lake. His love for Northwestern Ontario, with it’s rugged wilderness and beauty, never left him - he and mom enjoyed fishing and exploring the many lakes in the region. Dad will be remembered for his love of laughter and teasing. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed! We would like to take this time to thank the staff at the PRH and at Marianhill for the excellent treatment. A special thanks to Janice Egan for always doing a little bit extra. The Lecuyer Family.
