Vernon Fredrick Plant – passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Marion. Loving father of Kimberly (Jeanine) and Kenneth (Angie). Vernon will be sadly missed by his partner Mary Carver of 34 years and her children Daryl (Valerie) Carver and Christine (Alfred) Marsh. Proud poppy of Michael Marsh, Michelle Feck, Emily and Laura Carver, Margaret, Shayleigh, Brennan, Shawna and Shannon Plant. Great-grandfather to Lyla Feck. Special thank you to the nurses Gayle, Daywattie, Donna Marie, Jackie, Shawn, Sam, Dawn and Stephanie at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for going above and beyond. A Celebration of Vernon’s life will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Thursday, July 21st at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Donations in Vernon’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Centre.
