Gertrude Johanna Babor

Babor, Gertrude (Trudy)

After sharing her final hours with her family Gertrude gently slipped away on Saturday September 10, 2016, at Southlake Regional Health Centre at the age of 90. She was born on March 2nd, 1926, in Sporitz, Czechoslovakia. She would settle in Toronto with her husband Vladimir (Walter), 12 years predeceased, where she worked as a beautician and would raise three children, Peter (Alice), Steven (Evelyn) and Diana. Gertrude was a proud grandmother to Allan (Rachel), Chris, Katie, Mark, Jason and Stevie. We will all miss her refined artistic sensibilities, her intelligence, her quick wit, her wonderful spirit, her outgoing and sociable personality, and her very giving, always caring, and resilient self. Always thinking of others and ways she could help; she was loving to her last hour. She always greeted friends with a broad smile and would always have a compliment for them. We are all deeply saddened by this tragic loss. A private family service is planned. Donations will be gratefully received in Trudy’s name to the Aurora CHATS - Community & Home Assistance to Seniors http://www.chats.on.ca/Donate-Today.
