Doris Marie Pekola (nee McConnell) - September 12, 1951 - September 10, 2016. Doris passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Hospital on September 10, 2016, after lengthy illnesses. At the time of her death she was surrounded by many friends and family. She is survived by her partner of 35 years Richard Lester. Mother of Stacey Baxter, Sandra Carrey and Shannon Lester. Much loved grandmother to her 8 grandchildren; Ryan, Dakota, Logan, Drew, Jayden, Trinitee, Seth and Teagan. Loving sister of Hazel Collett, Joan Speedie, Michelle Joyce, Murray McConnell, and James Walker. She will be missed by her niece and many nephews. Life long friend Geri Klingbile and daughter Lisa Metiver. Doris worked her entire life nursing and taking care of others. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was well known for her sense of humor. She touched many lives and will be truly missed. There will be no funeral service and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
