SMITH, Robert Cyril Harold ~ An avid farmer and cattleman, fisherman, family man ~ Passed away suddenly at home with his wife by his side on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 54. Robert was the beloved husband of Belinda in their 29th year of marriage. Loving father of April (Gary Burley) and Francis (Katie) and dear brother to Verna (Lloyd) Parker of Oshawa, Val Roche (Sil Manini) of Keswick and brother-in-law to Shirley Smith of Bowmanville. Robert is predeceased by parents Cyril (1972) and Jean (2008) Smith, brother George, Sister Vivian (Perry) Vaillancourt, Violet (Mike) O’Loughlin, Veronica (Ed) Collins and Velma Smith. Robert’s memory will forever be cherished by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Friday, September 16th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 17th from 10:00 until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 11:00a.m. Following will be an interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lifford. If desired, a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association of Kawartha Lakes, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family at the funeral home by cheque only.
