Schaeffer Schiedel, Fern Linda Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Innisfree House on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the age of 56. Beloved wife of Bill, loving mother of Jeff (Nicole) and Mark. Adored daughter of Adeline (deceased) and Ivan (deceased). Proud daughter-in-law of Earl (deceased) and Shirley. Dear sister of Richard (Shirley) and Cameron (Shirlie). Dearly loved by Glenn (Sandra), Brenda, Gail (Terry). Loving aunt to countless nieces and nephews. Survived by many extended family and friends. Fern loved to travel with her family and friends, cherished being outdoors in her gardens and entertaining in her beautiful home. She always put others before herself and could light up any room with her vibrant personality and smile. She served 39 years as a long serving employee of Fairview Mennonite Home in Cambridge dedicating her love and passion for cooking and caring for others as a Nutrition Manager. Special thanks to the staff of the 6th Floor Oncology Unit at Grand River Hospital and Innisfree House for their incredible, compassionate care. Fern's family will receive relatives and friends from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. The funeral service will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 54 Benton St., Kitchener, on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held in the church hall; with interment following at Williamsburg Cemetery.
