James Stewart Swanson Obituary

SWANSON, James (Jim) Stewart -

(December 25, 1937- August 26, 2016)

(Retired employee of Photo Engravers Ltd.- PETE)

Suddenly and alone, in his 80th year, this gentle and kind man, passed peacefully in his sleep, on August 26th, at his home in Rexdale. He was predeceased by his father, Francis Mowatt Swanson (1973) and his mother, Mary McDougal Swanson, (1985). Jim is survived by his sister, Catherine Julie (Bill) (Niagara) and his extended family, nephews, Bill Julie (Eloise) (Lakefield) and Kevin Julie (St. Catharines). He had much joy in his relationships with his grandnephews, Stephan, Spencer and Myles (St. Catharines) and Calvin and Cameron (Lakefield). In his younger years he travelled many times to Europe and the UK. There were many aunts and uncles and cousins to visit in Glasgow and Edinburgh and he enjoyed being a part of their families. In recent years his travels were mainly Lakefield and Niagara where he became a fan of hockey, lacrosse, soccer and flea markets, through the activities of his grandnephews. Thank you to the ladies of Hadrian Drive for your caring and concern and friendship over the years. This gave him much happiness. Jim will be missed. Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, (north of Rexdale Boulevard), on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 12 p.m. until service time in the chapel at 1 p.m. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
