A. Roland (Roly) O’Shaughnessy, 87, passed away on Saturday August 20, 2016 at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. The beloved husband of Mary for 40 years. He will be greatly missed by his niece Mary Maloney and her husband George and his cousin, Pauline Gallagher. Roly will also be remembered fondly by all his family in Ireland, Scotland and Spain, as well as his numerous friends. Roly will be remembered for his warm and loving ways. He delighted people with his ready sense of humour and always had a song in his heart. Roly was born in Dublin, Ireland. He spent his career of 43 years as a librarian at Trinity College, Dublin. Roly was an avid cyclist touring the British Isles and Europe. He was a keen fisherman. Mary and Roly lived in Ireland before coming to Orillia in 1987. They finally settled in Collingwood. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday August 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital would be appreciated.
