Wayne Wiegand Obituary

WIEGAND, Douglas Wayne – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wayne Wiegand, who left us quickly and quietly on the morning of Monday, June 6th after battling cancer hard and determined for close to two years. He leaves behind many loving memories to his wife and high school sweetheart, Judy (nee Haddaway), two children Melissa (Carl) and Murray (Anita), beloved grandchildren Jarrid, Ellie, Jordan and Jeremy, brother Larry (Heather), brother in law Ron Haddaway (Nancy), nieces and nephews Geoff Haddaway (Alison), Angela Neal (Jason), and Tanya Wiegand, and mother in law Betty Haddaway. Besides his parents, Doug and Edith Wiegand, Wayne was predeceased by sister in law Virginia Wiegand, nephew Monty Wiegand and father in law Harry Haddaway. Wayne founded D. Wayne Wiegand Sales in 1983, and was also a past President of Grand Valley Construction. After retiring in 2006, he enjoyed ten years alternating between relaxing in Marco Island, Florida and in Cambridge regularly attending a whole assortment of his grandchildren’s sporting events. Wayne was ever an important presence in the lives of his family and friends, and he will be sorely missed. Wayne’s family will welcome friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Thursday, June 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 567 Queenston Rd, Cambridge on Friday, June 10th at 11 am. Reception to follow at the church.
