Jack Heath Obituary

HEATH, Jack Leslie September 28, 1920 - October 19, 2016 Jack died peacefully in Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 96th year. Born in Bristol, England in 1920, he emigrated to Canada to with his wife Gladys (1922-2006), and son Barry (1944-1997), but always spoke nostalgically about England and went back frequently to visit. A proud member of the Royal Air Force, once in Canada he finished his career as a teacher at Galt Collegiate Institute. The love of his life, with no doubt, was his wife Gladys, who he had met as a child, and spent 65 years of marriage with until her passing in 2006. One of his favourite stories to tell was that because their parents were friends and money was tight, both he and Gladys were christened in the same gown as infants. Jack will be remembered fondly by his three grandchildren Sally (Earl), John (Carrie), and Mary (Curtis). Following his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Jack was interred beside his beloved Gladys at Mount View Cemetery, 80 Blenheim Road, Galt, on Monday, October 24, 2016. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to express condolences may consider a donation to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, where staff took gentle and patient care of him in his final days.
