Floyd Calvin Warner Obituary

WARNER, Floyd Calvin – Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 84th year with his loving wife Betty Jean (MacDonald) of 58 years holding his hand. Predeceased by their two sons, Richard Calvin in 1989 and Ronald John in 2009; his parents Roy and Elsie Warner; and brothers Wilfred (Gwen), and Bruce (Rose Marie). He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Snyder and Gladys Penney, brother Gilbert (Doreen), nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Floyd was raised along with his siblings at the family farm on Kossuth Road in Cambridge. As children they attended Wanner Mennonite Church on Beaverdale Road. After getting his education he worked for E.G. Snyder, first on the farm and then in the Snyder Potato Chip business, before moving to Stratford to be foreman of Made-Rite Potato Chip’s Co. for several years. From there he worked for Grayco Farm Machinery before moving back to Hespeler and drove truck for E.G. Snyder Potato Farms and Downey’s Potato Farms for 28 years. After retiring he worked part time for Hank Schmidt cutting grass at Brookfield Golf Course for 19 years. He and his family have been long time members of Calvary Pentecostal Assembly in Cambridge. Resting at Lounsbury Funeral Home in Hespeler, 1766 Franklin Blvd. with visitation on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6 – 9 p.m. The celebration of his life will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Assembly, 127 Hespeler Road, Cambridge, on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. with viewing 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
