Casey Koenderink

KOENDERINK, Casey (Cees) – "Halloween 34" - October 4, 2016. Casey passed away in his 82nd year at his residence at Fairview Mennonite Home. In the arms of his family with a grin on his face Casey slipped away from us to join his loved ones far away, knowing his job here was done as Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Opa, Great Opa and friend. Predeceased by his beloved wife Grace of 56 years. United once again with his loving son, Douglas (1997) (Kathy) Casey will be dearly missed by his children Ronald (Susan), Kenneth (Anne), Edward (Mary), Andrew (Tammy), and Anthony. Proud Opa to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Albert (Riet), Jerry (Myrla), Hilda. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Alida (Van Lindt) and sister Nettie. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Casey was a union man who worked tirelessly for workers in general and injured workers in particular, through Canadian General Tower and the United Rubber Workers. He loved to dance and make people laugh. Thanks to CCAC, Dad’s many Doctors who helped him through his difficult periods, and his “new families” at St. Andrews Terrace and Fairview Mennonite Home. You kept him laughing and made him feel special. Family and friends are invited to a "Gathering" from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. at the Fairview Mennonite Home Auditorium, 515 Langs Drive, Cambridge. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge, Ontario, 519-658-9366, www.LounsburyFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Fairview Mennonite Home, LTC recreation program for the friends he leaves behind.
