The matriarch of our family was born August 21st. 1917 and was the youngest daughter of the late John A. Leeder and the former Christina E. Cauley (Lyn On.) Dearly loved wife of the late C. A. Maloney (Art). She leaves her devoted children, Kathryn Christine Paul (Bruce) and James Arthur Maloney (Marlene & her daughter Courtney). Forever Grandmother to her Grandchildren Julie A. VanderBaaren (Nathan) and Ryan D. Paul (Melanie) of Brockville. Her Grandchildren were her treasures and delight. Cherished Great Grandmother to her Great Grandsons; Riley, Avery, and Wesley VanderBaaren. Much loved Aunt of Barbara Moon, Karen MacDonald, Lambert and Kevin Leeder, Robert Leeder of Tawaco, New Jersey and Lois Leeder of Topsfield,Mass. As well as Colleen, MaryAnn and Kathleen Maloney of Nanaimo BC. and several great great great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Doreen and Patricia Leeder and brothers Amber, Lorne, Cauley and Lambert Leeder.

Olga grew up in Lyn On. attending school there and then to the Brockville Collegiate Institute, before entering St. Vincent de Paul School of Nursing. As a registered nurse she enjoyed many years of private duty, Pediatric, and Maternity nursing. Olga initially served as a staff nurse at the Montreal General Hospital and was a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario. She was an active parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church, a Fifty year member of the Catholic Woman’s League, the Legion of Mary, and other volunteer activities.

Outside of her professional life, she was never happier than with family and friends at the cottage on the St. Lawrence River (Anchorage Bay and La Rue Mills). There, and at Jones Creek, She and Dad enjoyed many boating excursions over the years, exploring our beautiful islands in the “Miss Julie”. Family picnics and barbecues were enjoyed by all. Love of travel was always present in Mom and Dad's life, the Hawaiian Islands, especially held a special place in her heart.

Her Family remembers her for her love and devotion to Faith, her quiet strength, and determination, her wonderful warmth, sense of humour, her sincere kindness to all and great dignity. Olga was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, as well as offering words of encouragement to the poor in spirit.

Her cheerful, unassuming nature endeared her to a wide circle of friends. Olga, confronted the last few years of her life, the same way she lived her life-with Grace, Patience and Purpose. Sincere appreciation is extended to the staff of St. Lawrence Lodge for their dedicated care and kindness to Mom - her home for the last few years.
