It is with deep sadness that the Reesor family announces the passing of Carol Jane Ann Harrison Reesor on Monday, August 15th, 2016 at the age of 74 years. Carol was a passionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and patron of the arts. Pre-deceased by her loving parents K.G. (Doc) and Aileen (Bunce) Harrison.

Carol lived life to the fullest highlighted by 45 years of marriage to the love of her life, Berne, a true love story. Carol will be deeply missed by her daughters Stephanie, Mary (David Haak) and Sarah (Dave Samsoondar). She will be forever missed by her eight grandchildren who were the lights of her life: Benjamin, Zachary, Emily, Charlotte, Madeline, Alexander, Jacob and James. Mourning her loss is her beloved sister Patricia (Harrison) Colby and her husband Bill. Carol also leaves behind her nephews and niece: Todd, Greg, Christopher, Andrew, David, Michael, Jeffrey and Carolyn.

Carol’s commitment to friends and community was exemplary. Her legacy includes her enthusiastic support of the visual arts community in Ottawa and Brockville. Her most recent success was as curator of the Corridor Gallery at the Brockville General Hospital where Carol was born.

Carol’s hyperactive life included a love of family, friends, travel, art, tennis, music, films, writing, gardening, reading, laughter, politics, cold white wine and feeding her ducks and many friends on her deck on the St. Lawrence. Berne was steadfast in his role as her gopher/chauffeur.

The family would like to thank the caring nurses and doctors in the ICU and NACU at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Brockville District Hospital Foundation.

Please join us in a celebration of Carol’s inspirational life at the Brockville Aquatarium, 6 Broad Street, on Saturday, August 20th from 4-6pm.

We are all shocked by this loss and to quote a dear old friend, “We always regarded Carol as somehow not subject to the normal laws of nature, she wrote her own rules”. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Brockville District Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
