Meredith Vickery Obituary

Vickery, Meredith Anne- age 82, of Aylesford passed away on September 11th at home. Born in Moncton, N.B. on April 19th , 1934 she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Keiver. Meredith always enjoyed sports and in high school she played basketball and later on enjoyed watching baseball and curling on television. Meredith met many people during her years working at Newell Lobster and became friends with many. Her best friends in later years were her two cats George and Mittens who were always by her side. Although she lived in many places during her long life Meredith always considered Yarmouth and areas to be her home. Stubborn to a fault and a loving worry wart she was always putting others before herself. As an only child, Meredith loved surrounding herself with the large family she created and cherished all the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Michael Cunningham, Wendy Cunningham, Bill (Ann) Cunningham, Tim (Val) Cunningham, Peter (Lisa) Cunningham, Stepchildren; Oliver Vickery, Darlene Vickery and Charmaine Hearn, Grandchildren; Emily (Jeremy) Duff, Jude Goodwin, Genevieve Cunningham, Brenna Cunningham, Erin Cunningham and great grandchildren; Olivia, Ryder, Scarlet, Garret and Jackson as well as several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband Roy Vickery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held at Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 15th, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. Interment will follow in Chebogue Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Charity of Choice.
