MacInnis (Smith) Evelyn Joan - 69 passed away peacefully at Marianhill Nursing home in Pembroke Ontario. Born in Yarmouth February 24, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Elsie (Davis) Smith. She was a homemaker all her life and was especially fond of cats. She was a long time member of New Life Church Yarmouth. Over the years she served in Sunday School, as an usher, pioneer girls anywhere she could lend a helping hand. Evelyn was a wonderful mother and friend, who had a great sense of humour and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Since 2012 she lived at Marianhill Nursing Home where she was cared for by a wonderful staff. She is survived by her only child, daughter Heather (Brian) Watkins, North Bay ON; brothers, Mackie Smith, Yarmouth and Arthur (Shirley) Smith, Dayton; two grandchildren Amy (Chris) Hill Calgary AB, Evan Watkins Bedford NS and one great grandchild Drake. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul MacInnis. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Friday August 19, 2016 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held in Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Larry Pennell officiating. Interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to the Yarmouth SPCA or Wycliffe Bible Translators of Canada.
