It is with sadness that the family of Barbara Louise Dominey, 82, of Lunenburg and formerly of Blue Rocks, announces her passing on Wednesday June 1, 2016 in Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in Blue Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Greville and Maude (Tanner) Tanner. Barbara was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Blue Rocks. In her earlier years Barbara worked part-time as a grocery clerk and then was a proud homemaker who took great pride in looking after her home and family. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and spunky manner which endeared her to many. The daily family phone “check ins” will be sorely missed. She is survived by her sister, Amy Tanner, Blue Rocks; brother, Frederick, of Garden Lots and sisters-in-law, Ruby Tanner and Sylvia Tanner, both of Lunenburg. Barbara will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Barbara is predeceased by her husband Walter and brothers Cecil, Creighton and Ray. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A graveside service for Barbara will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, in Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks. The Very Rev. John Wright officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care for all the years of compassionate care shown to Barbara.
