It is with profound sadness that the family of Carl Lawrence (Larry) Arthur Schindell announce his passing, peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Nancy Atkins (Randy), Judy Wegner (Ted) and Bruce Schindell (Janet). He will also be missed by his three grandchildren Heather, Brayden and Caitlin. Dad was a proud veteran of World War II having served for the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve on the Chippewa stationed in London, England. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday September 2, 2016 at 11:00am in the Transcona Memorial United Church 209 Yale Avenue West, Winnipeg. A light lunch will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion 117 Regent Avenue East, Winnipeg. The family would like to thank all the staff at Deer Lodge Centre, Tower 5 for the loving, compassionate care our father received while he lived there. Especially over the last 2 1/2 months as we embarked on Dads final journey. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Transcona Memorial United Building fund or the charity of your choice.
