Obituary
Evelyn passed away Monday, September 19th, 2016, at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 74 years. Evelyn was born Thursday, January 15, 1942 in Brochet, MB. Evelyn married Joseph Sayies, September 1962 and lived in Sherridon, MB, until they moved to Lynn Lake shortly after. Evelyn enjoyed doing her beadwork, making moccasins, camping and visiting her siblings whenever she could. She was known for cooking wild game and her family really enjoyed her bannock. Evelyn is survived by her 5 sisters, Thelma Vickers, Angeline Head, Emily Zuk-Davis, Rose Vezeau, Linda O’Keefe; 3 brothers Ernest, Simon and Albert Lapensee. Evelyn is also survived by her 3 daughters and 6 sons, JoAnne (Al) Mossip, Ron Sayies (Cecelia), Randy Sayies (Patti), Darren Sayies (Darlene), Dean Sayies, Bradley Sayies (Patti), Jeanette Sayies, Steven Sayies (Chantelle) and Angie (Trevor) McKenzie; 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Philomene Lapensee; sisters Eunice Stoltz and Gloria Purden; infant sisters Marie Madeleine, Florence and Naomi Lapensee; brothers Victor and Robert John Lapensee; infant brother Robert Donald Lapensee. The family would like to extend special thanks to Emily Zuk-Davis, Bradley and Patti Sayies for caring for her especially in the last couple of years of her life.
