Carol Anderson Obituary

Carol May was born Monday, October 17, 1951 to Fred and Delores White. She passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer with many loved ones by her side Thursday, October 20, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 65 years. Carol came from a large family and was known as “Cook”. She enjoyed taking care of her younger siblings and to this day was still protective of them all. She had a special bond with her sisters and spent many hours on the phone chatting and catching up with them. She loved the outdoors, going to the lake, fishing, picking berries and mushrooms on the dyke. Her beautiful smile and curly afro hair could be seen as she was running across the street. Carol married the love of her life on July 28, 1973. Carol was a homemaker on the farm and her family quickly grew with the birth of Charleen, Colleen, Crystal and Bruce. Carol was the best Mom in the history of Moms. She was in her glory gardening in the summer and was proud to share her bounty with family and friends. Carol could pickle like a fairy and cook like a chef. There was always fresh baking and desserts to be had at home. Carol loved to knit and every new baby received a beautiful baby sweater outfit made with love. She also enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles and painting. Carol loved to celebrate and had been known to dance on a few tables. In the summer she loved going to the cabin, watching baseball games, being a part of the Ag Society and parades. In the winter she loved helping with sleigh rides and watching hockey. After her children had grown, Carol worked outside of the home at NorthMart. She loved talking to the customers and her co-workers, her laughter could be heard throughout the store. Carol’s family grew further with the birth of her grandchildren Gavin McKie, Alex Jolie, Ella Shy, Lelin Blake and three special foster girls. They were the light of her life and she was constantly thinking about them. Carol was smart, devoted and selfless, she made the world a brighter place with her unconditional love, laughter and wit. Carol was predeceased by her infant daughter Charleen; parents Fred and Delores White; in-laws George and Edith Anderson; sister Karen. She leaves to mourn her husband Allan; children Colleen (Ken), Crystal (Scott), Bruce (Theresa); grandchildren Gavin, Alex, Lelin and Ella; siblings Susan (Earl), Ken (Jennifer), Percy (Joy), Judy (Allan), Reynold (Joan); and many family and friends. Prayers and Visitation were held Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas. The funeral service was held Tuesday, October 25, 2016, 1:00 pm, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, Manitoba, with Rev. Paul Bringleson presiding. Music ministry was provided by Rochelle Rydberg. Pallbearers were Percy White, Reynold White, Ken White, Gerald Anderson, Wayne Anderson and Ralph Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers all Carol’s family and friends. Following interment prayers at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, a reception was held for family and friends at the Guy Hall.
