John 'Bob" Delaney
JOHN ROBERT DELANEY Bob passed away at the Trochu Extended Care July 9, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born October 22, 1924 in Duncan, BC and lived on the family farm at Huxley where he attended school and graduated in 1938. Bob served on Active Service with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He married Doreen Sollberger in December 1960 and farmed until 1970. They then moved into Trochu and worked in the community and in 1975 Bob became an Operator of the Bleriot Ferry near Drumheller. He was a lifelong member of the Trochu Elks. Bob is survived by his sister-in-law Arla (Melvin) Jassman; brother-in-law Arnie (Anne) Sollberger; nieces Nela (Keith) Lambert, Andrea Sollberger; nephews Brian (Judy) Jassman, Evan Sollberger; great nephew Laine Hiebert and great niece Brittney Jassman. He also survived by several family members in B.C. He was predecessed by his wife Doreen in 2012, two sisters Mae Widman, Annie Bennie; three brothers Jim, George and Alex Delaney and two infant brothers. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trochu Baptist Church Fellowship Centre with Harold Hunter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to directly to St. Mary's Health Care Centre, Trochu.Obituary
