CORINTH AND BREWER – Ruby I. Rogers, 77, passed away December 22, 2013, at a local hospital, surrounded by loved ones. She was born December 20, 1936, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of Leeman Rexford and Ora (Look) Grant. Ruby graduated from Brewer High School, and was very proud to be a Brewer Witch. She drove school bus and worked at Bangor Seat Cover for many years. Ruby was a member of the Kenduskeag Union Church, enjoyed crafts of any type and was a New England sports fan, especially the Patriots. She was a very large presence in life and always had a joke to tell. Ruby is survived by her granddaughters, Amy Dauphinee and Dawn England; grandson, Terrance Freeman; very special niece named after her aunt, Jennifer Ruby Hall; several beloved nephews; and many other special family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ruby is predeceased by husbands, Arthur Rogers and Bud Dauphinee; sons, Maurice “Mo” Dauphinee and Kevin Rogers; daughter, Cheryl Smart; sister, Rebecca Hall; brothers, Reginald Grant, Bernald Grant, Emery Grant, and Rexford Grant; and her dog Erin. Relatives and friend are welcome to call 1-3 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main St., Brewer, where a memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, December 29, with the Pastor Ruth Guerette, officiating.
