Burton Young

Young, Sr., Burton, 78, of New Martinsville, WV died Friday, March 16, 2012 at Sistersville Center in Sistersville, WV. Burton was born March 11, 1934 in Wetzel County, WV son of the late Ralph and Ida Quinn Young. He was retired plant supervisor from Marietta Construction, loved to work, which included gardening and raising cattle and he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Sistersville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life Wilma Jean Young (2010); great granddaughter, Hannah Young; brothers, Frank, Harley, Glen, Emery and Floyd and sisters, Gladys, Edna and Maxine. Surviving are sons, Burton (Cindy) Young and Charles (Mary) Young both of New Martinsville, WV, Ronnie (Lisa) Young of Paden City, WV; step-son, Gary Young of New Martinsville, WV; daughters, Mary (George) Miller of Sistersville, WV and Shirley (Larry) Tennant of New Martinsville, WV; brother, Robert (Sue) Young of Davis, WV; sister, Pearl (Gene) Smith of Woodsfield, OH; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends received Noon-3 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where service will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, March 19, 2012 with Rev. Dennis Shirer officiating. Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens in New Martinsville, WV. Memorial contributions may be made in Burton's name to Journey Hospice, 314 S Wells St., Sistersville, WV 26175.
