Julie Kruszka

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Julie Lorraine Kruszka, age 52, of Battle Creek, MI announces the passing of our dear mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend on Sunday evening, November 24, 2013 at home. She was born March 28, 1961 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of James Raymond Weller and Jeannie Louise (Van Sickler) Weller. Julie was a medical technician for MPI; she had previously worked at Family Health Center managing the lab for 15 years and simultaneously worked weekends at Pennock Hospital in Hastings. She graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1979 and got associates degree in Medical Technology from Kellogg Community College in 1994. She was a workaholic and really enjoyed her chosen profession; she liked University of Michigan football games, liked hanging out with her daughters and family. Julie is survived by three daughters: Amanda Jean Kruszka of Beaverton, OR; Logan Leigh Kruszka and Emerson Elisabeth Kruszka both of Battle Creek, MI; her former husband - Donald Joseph Kruszka of Battle Creek; her mother: Jeannie Louise (Van Sickler) & Jack E. Burpee of Bellevue, MI; her father: James Raymond & Linda L. Weller of Springfield, MI; two brothers: Jeffrey Lee & Linda Weller of Kalamazoo; Keith S. & Debbie Burpee of Murchison, TX; and a sister: Kelly S. & Scott Sandy of Bellevue, MI. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 12:00 PM noon until service time. The funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Pleasantview Family Church with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. Cremation will follow at the Oak Hill Crematory.
