Matthew Koch

Matthew A. Koch, age 31, of Rock Springs, passed away, following a courageous battle with brain cancer on Saturday, October 12, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 2, 1982, in River Falls, WI, the son of Alan Koch and Brenda (Quist) Ziech. Matt loved sports. He played softball almost year-round. He enjoyed working out at the gym, and physical fitness and healthy eating was an important part of his lifestyle. He enthusiastically watched the Packers and looked forward to putting together a fantasy football team each year with his friends. Matt had a very positive outlook on life and truly appreciated his family and friends and the things they did for him. Above all, Matt loved his three daughters and his family and cherished the times they spent together. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roman Koch; grandmother, Peggy Lashley; and uncle, Scott Quist. Matt is survived by his parents: Brenda and Travis Ziech of Rock Springs, Alan and Michelle Koch of Wisconsin Dells; Daughters: Alexandria Dwyer, Alivia and Aubirana Koch; Mother of the girls and close friend, Stephanie Koch of Cazenovia; Grandparents: Edward and Renate Koch of Reedsburg, Dwight and Jean Ziech of Hillpoint; Brothers, Corey (Chelsey) Koch, and daughter, Caliah, of Reedsburg, Brent Koch of Rock Springs, Tony Koch of Reedsburg, Blake Koch of Reedsburg, Treyton Koch of Wisconsin Dells; Uncles and Aunts: Robert and Cindy Koch of CA, Paul and Anita Martin of Hudson, Lisa and Tim Kalepp of Loganville, Greg and Lisa Ziech of Hillpoint, Tiffany and Brian Gross of Lime Ridge; Many cousins along with other relatives and friends. We celebrate Matt’s life with a service on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 3:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers and will be placed in a trust fund for Matt’s daughters.
