<p>Helen Nanake Pegnidopoulos, age 84 of Fairfield, beloved wife of 54 years to Haralambos (Bobby) Pegnidopoulos passed away peacefully in her home on August 31, 2013. Helen was born in Kavala Greece on August 15, 1929. She was the daughter of the late George and Sotiria Kazana Nanake. In hopes for a better life, she left her war torn country and came to America in 1953. As a young woman in a strange land she awaited the day when she could return to Greece to marry her childhood sweetheart. They were married on November 1, 1959 and travelled to the U.S. as a couple. They resided in the Fairfield area till her death.</p><p>In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by her son Angelo of the Huntington area of Shelton, a sister Anastasia Andriotis and her husband Demetrios of Trumbull, her nieces and nephews Toula Magi and her husband Glen of Trumbull, George Andriotis and his wife Vicky of Bridgeport, Effi Andriotis of Trumbull, Frank Andriotis of Norwalk, several nieces and nephews in Greece. She was predeceased by a sister Cleopatra. Helen was a loving, caring and devoted person, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.</p><p>Friends are invited to go directly to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport on Wednesday at 10am where the Rite of Burial will be officiated by Father Andreas Vithoulkas Presbyter. Interment immediately following in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday September 3, 2013 from 4-8pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport with Trisagion services at 6pm. AIONIA I MNIMI</p>
