James Ashcraft

James E. Ashcraft, 83, of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Louis A. Johnson Veteran’s Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born May 24, 1930 in Clarksburg a son of the late James A. Ashcraft and Rosella M. Stonestreet Ashcraft. He is survived by two sons, Timothy Wayne Ashcraft and his wife Michelle of Clarksburg and Kevin Michael Ashcraft and his wife Vickie also of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Marleena Ashcraft and Steven Ashcraft; two step grandchildren, Merry Kate Talkington and Olivia Jones; one step great granddaughter, Zyria Quinn; one sister, Betty Henry. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Ashcraft and one son, Steven Edward Ashcraft. Mr. Ashcraft was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Following his service he was employed with several companies in and around the Clarksburg area in many capacities. He then was employed with the WV Department of Highways for 15 years as a mechanic until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed watching football and his favorite TV shows, Gunsmoke, Sanford and Sons, and Ponderosa. He also enjoyed going to the Eagles Club, playing bingo at the Mason House and spending time with his family and friends.
