Robert Wile

Robert “Bob” Crawford Wile, 82, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012. Born October 14, 1930 in South Mountain, PA, he was the son of the late Martina S. Reheard and Paul Wile. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Quincy High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, AK for three years. Following his discharge from the Army he served in the US Army Reserve for several years and later, with the 167th Airlift Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard, as a photographer, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 38 years. He earned his Journeyman Trade papers as a painter prior to beginning a career in residential construction. He worked for the former Chambersburg Builders before starting his own company, BroLee Corporation, and helped to fashion such neighborhoods as Coldbrook Meadows and Scot-Greene Estates until his gradual retirement in the 1990’s. Bob was a member of the Fayetteville Pentecostal Church of God, where he served on the Board of Directors for both the church and the Faith Valley Christian School. He was a charter member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company. He was a lifelong hunter, fisherman, and master carpenter. Mr. Wile is survived by his loving wife, Joretta (Rowe) of 58 years; a daughter, Cindy Bailey of Fayetteville; a son, Robert Wile and wife Margaret of Fairfield; four grandchildren, John Appleby, Eric Appleby, Brendan Lewis, and Amanda Wile; numerous great and great-great grand children; and a sister, Delma Spoonhour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Wagaman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. George S. Mouer, Sr. and Pastor Staci Geesaman officiating. Interment with military honors by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Pentecostal Church of God, 5276 Treher Road, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
