David Walls

David Walls, age 93, of Smiley, Texas died January 17, 2010 in Gonzales. He was born in Faulkner County, Arkansas on October 5, 1916 to Marlin A. and Beulah (Fowler) Walls. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janice Lanell Walls; a brother, Robert Abraham Walls; sisters-in-laws: Ruth Walls, Pauline Walls, Barbara H. Walls; and brothers-in-law: David Ponton and Garland McKinney. He is survived by his wife since May 23, 1954, Peggy (Moore) Walls, of Smiley; a son, Joe Walls and wife, Karen, of Midland; two brothers: Paul Edwin Walls, of Murphy, NC; James Leo Walls, of Smiley; three sisters: Alice Corine Marcum and husband, Don, of Indiahoma, OK; Lois Marie Massie and husband, Giles, of Tucson, AZ; Leoma Jane Ponton, of Kyle; eight grandchildren: Benjamin David Walls and wife, Lisa; Joshua Walsh and wife, Jenny; Joel Walls and wife, Janet; Jennifer Maddox and husband, Jeremy; SamanthaWalls; Brittany Ridge and husband, Jack; Stephen Walls; Sarah Crisp and husband, Chad; eleven great-grandchildren: Chris Starnes Walls, Lindsay Walls, Tyler Wheeless, Bryce Wheeless, Madison Michelle Walsh, Ryleigh Walls, Reagan Walls, Jocelyn Maddox, Justin Maddox, Cole Alan Crisp, and Ryan Ridge; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many close friends. Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19th, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20th, at 11:00 AM at the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
