William Clark Obituary

William D. “Bill” Clark, 83, of Scottsbluff, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at Regional West Medical Center. Family interment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CST) Friday, November 9, 2007 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Chaplain Norval Holtmeier officiating. Military rites will be given by the United States Air Force and the North Platte Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nebraska Children’s Home in Omaha, NE, the American Heart Association or to the donor’s choice. Friends who wish may sign his memorial book at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Bill was born June 19, 1924 at Cambridge, Nebraska to Fred W. and Effadale (Goss) Clark, and spent his youth in Furnas and Red Willow counties. He served in the United States Army Air Force from September of 1942 until September of 1945. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Colorado A & M in Ft. Collins, graduating in June of 1951. He worked for the Armour & Company in Denver and Chicago from 1951 until 1955. He married Oneta Roland December 31, 1955 at Alliance, Nebraska. He spent his career with the USDA Farmers Home Administration from February of 1955 until his retirement in June of 1982. He has lived in Scottsbluff since. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff, Scottsbluff Elks Lodge #1367 and the Morrill American Legion Post #10. Bill is survived by his wife Oneta of Scottsbluff, daughters Rayma Kukas and her husband Robert of Grand Island, NE and Beth Clark of Alliance, a sister Beverly Swanson of Littleton, CO, a brother in law Howard Mastalir of Lincoln, NE and two grandchildren Chandra Kukas of Charlotte, NC and Michael Kukas of Kansas City, KS. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.
