Dorothea L. Stewart, 90, Independence, Mo. died July 26, 2004 at Hidden Lake Care Center. Services will be 10 am, Friday, July 30 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Blue Ridge Congregation of the Community of Christ or the Leukemia Foundation. Dorothea was born June 7, 1914 in Buckley, IL. She was a charter member of the Blue Ridge Congregation of the Community of Christ and was a teacher at the church. She was a volunteer for many service organizations throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Stewart and brothers Russell Hardy and Merton Hardy. Dorothea is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Jessie and Jimmie, Sr. Borland, Indep. MO; Ilene and Larry Mallett, Chanute, KS; brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Maydean Hardy, Indep., MO; sister-in-law Lucille Hardy, Indep., MO; sisters Fern Molden, Jackson, MI; Edith Noland, Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
