Marie P. White, 81,a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on January 15, 1931 in Stamford to the late Frank and Minnie Bria Giannattasio. Marie was a member of St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, Sons of Italy of Norwalk, St. Ann Society of Norwalk and the Piedmont Club of Darien. She was a graduate of Stamford High School, Class of 1949 and was a Hair Stylist for many years before her retirement. Marie is survived by her loving daughter Debra Fontana and her husband John of Huntington, CT; three loving brothers John Giannattasio and his wife Ann of Houston, TX, Frank Giannattasio, Jr. of Trumbull, CT and Richard Giannattasio and his wife Ruth of Guilford, CT; three loving grandchildren Michael McCarthy and his wife Gianna Santoro, Lauren and Cristina Fontana and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Richard V. White. A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Bridget’s of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford at 11:00 AM .
