Holmes Strosnider
Holmes Preston Strosnider , 87, of White Post, VA died on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at a local nursing home. He was born on January 9, 1925 in Winchester, VA, the son of the late William and Vondorah Strosnider. He retired from the Perry Engineering Company as an asphalt foreman. Holmes married Catherine Johnson, on November 6, 1943 in Hagerstown, MD. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Baker, and husband, David of San Diego, CA, and Connie MacMillan, and husband “Fuzzy”of Winchester, VA; one son, Holmes P. Strosnider, Jr., and wife, Judy of Frederick County, VA; one brother, Edward Strosnider of Clarke County; seven grandchildren, Kimble Baker, Brian Baker, James Pingley, Tammy Crawford, Steven and, Michael MacMillan and Shane Strosnider. Mr. Strosnider was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters, Nellie Patterson,Viola Hillyard, Irene Hillyard, and Edith Wilkins; and two brothers, Lawrence and Virgil Strosnider. A visitation will be on Monday, May 7, 2012, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial PArk. Pallbearers will be James Pingley, Shane Strosnider, Michael MacMillan, Tommy Triplett, Tyler MacMillan and Jimmy Pingley.Obituary
