Stephen Papia Obituary

Of Randolph, formerly of Waltham and Belmont, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at The Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness; He was 64. Mr. Papia was born in Cambridge, raised and educated in Belmont. A graduate of Belmont High School with the Class of 1965 he earned an Associates Degree at Bentley College in 1967. Stephen served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Papia managed several different restaurants, and most recently was the head of the Kitchen at Roche Brothers before his retirement. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox. Most of all he loved being with his family. Stephen was the beloved son of the late Carmela (Sabato) Papia. He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Hawkins) Papia of Randolph, his devoted daughter Danielle Virgillio and her husband Johnny of Waltham, his beloved father Stephen G. Papia of Belmont, his dear brothers Richard Papia and his wife Diane of Ludlow, and Michael Papia of Belmont, and his cherished grandchildren Sofia and Giovanni. In addition he is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, on Monday, April 30th at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday April 29th from 2 - 6 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
