Kenny Floch

Kenneth Edward Floch passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston at the age of 79. Kenneth was born in Lewiston to Maida A. Appleford Floch and M. Tiffany Floch on Dec. 27, 1928. He has been a lifelong resident of Asotin County, being reared on Montgomery Ridge and attending 12 years of school in Anatone. After completing high school, he worked on the family farm with his father and brother. He entered the Navy in January of 1951 during the Korean Campaign. Upon completing his tour of duty, he returned to the family farm on Montgomery Ridge. He married Alice Betty Coffland of Culdesac Sept. 24, 1955. They continued farming until 1979, when the family farm was sold and they moved to Asotin. Ken was active in community projects and area organizations including two terms on the Asotin/Anatone School Board, Anatone 4-H leader, president of the community hall, lifetime member of the Anatone Grange, president of the Lewiston Hereford Association and director of the Asotin County Soil Conservation District. He enjoyed farming, tilling the soil and working with livestock. In later years, he enjoyed using his horses on pack and hunting and fishing trips. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially his granddaughters. He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Steven Floch and companion Judy, and Chris Floch and wife Linda, all of Asotin, and Dale Floch and wife Mary of Genesee; one sister, Gwyneth Weimer and family of Pomeroy; one sister-in-law, June Floch and family of Clarkston; grandchildren, Whitney and Chelsey Floch, and Jennifer and Justin Treib. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Harold Floch. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, 1242 Highland Ave., Clarkston. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of the donor's choice.
