Rita Phillips

Blacksburg -- Rita Blackwell Phillips, 49, of 142 Black Rock Road, passed away Tuesday, April 17th, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, Mrs. Phillips was the wife of Tim Phillips of the home and the daughter of the late Henry Leroy Blackwell and Gladys Wilson Blackwell of Gaffney. Mrs. Phillips worked as a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Phillips is survived by two sons, Timothy Wayne Phillips and Brandon Lee Phillips, both of Gaffney; three brothers, David Wayne Blackwell of Gaffney, Timothy Scott Blackwell of Gaffney, and Ernest Todd Blackwell of Bessmer City, NC; and a sister, Lisa Mosley of Blacksburg. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her father and a son, Jason White. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 18th, 2012, from 3:00pm - 9:00pm at Gladys Blackwell's Residence, 107 Guthrie Street in Gaffney. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19th, at 3:30pm at Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church with Rev. Gregg Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Rita Phillips Funeral Fund, c/o Gordon Mortuary, PO Box 428, Blacksburg, SC 29702. The family will be at Gladys Blackwell's residence, 107 Guthrie Street, Gaffney.
