David Crouch

David Michael Crouch, 59, of Winifrede went home to be with the Lord April 5, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston after a lengthy and grueling war with physical obstacles. His earthly journey with pain and strife was ended by a merciful God with infinite wisdom. “Mike”, as he was lovingly known, made many friends in his lifetime, many of whom were loyal throughout his last earthly days. At the time of his death, Mike resided at Diamond. He also lived at Winifrede but spent most of his life in his hometown of Chesapeake where he served the community as a former Chief of Police and as a member of the Fire Department. He was also a longtime employee of Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet. He was preceded in death by Parents: Archie “Bill” and Ina Muriel Hudson Crouch, Special Friends: Denver Caldwell, Lucien Bridges, and Billy and Mike McDaniels and His canine companion: Patch. Surviving Are: Wife: Jane Knight Crouch and Son: Josh both of Diamond, Grandchildren: Paula and Michael, Sisters: Barbara Faye (Charles) Massey of Charleston, Patty Crouch of Charleston The family wishes to express heartfelt sincere gratitude to the congregation of Wills Memorial Non-Denominational Church for its unrelenting support and prayers and the caring nurses and doctors at CAMC, particularly Dr. Alfred Pfister who has cared for him since 1983. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday April 10, 2012 at The First Freewill Baptist Church of Chesapeake with Rev. Donald Fleck officiating. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
